The interior was completely re-done including headliner, carpets, door panels, seats and a respray of the dash. Also replaced was the rear view mirror and both sunvisors.
Under the hood, the motor was upgraded to a 12 volt generator that has recently been replaced. The motor is a 1600 dual port, with new pistons, heads, exhaust, coil, wiring, rebuilt carb, clutch and pressure plate, aluminum pulley.
Under the other hood, the gas tank has been acid cleaned and painted. The spare tire is an original VW winter tire.
The bug has been lowered with a 2.5" drop spindle kit that included new link pins. The rims have been repainted, there are new beauty rings, hub caps and new rubber on all four tires. There are new bearings, brakes, lines on all four corners. The master cylinder and all four brake cylinders have also been replaced.
The transmission is solid, and doesn't pop out of gear. It is not full synchro though. YOu will need to come to a complete stop before popping it into first. Fluids have all been changed.
The colour is Speed Red with the body work and spray by Mason's of Ninette. All window rubber, door seals, window seals, handles, chrome etc are new.
On the outside the only original pieces are the drivers side mirror, and the VW hood ornament.
The car is safetied, and ready to drive. And it drives really well. I have learned to lip read with this car. "Punch buggy, no return" is now easy to spot.
